Project „Reduction of dust emission in MPEC Sp. z o.o. through the construction of a new flue gas extraction system” has received funding from the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 under the Operational Program (PL04) – Saving energy and promoting renewable energy sources.
The investment was aimed at reducing emissions to the air of substances that are by-products of the solid-fuel based heat generation process. The project aims at improving the environment, including air quality by reducing the amount of pollutant emissions from fuel combustion plants. The specific purpose of the investment was to comply with the law, guaranteeing continued, uninterrupted operation on the market.
Expected results of the project will be the replacement of the dedusting system in 3 boilers, which will reduce the dust emission in the amount of 76,474 (tons / year) and target reduction of dust emissions to 25 mg / Nm3 for dry gas at 6% O2.
The project was aimed at adapting the MPEC Olsztyn installation to the emission standards set out in Directive 2001/80 / EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23.10.2001 on the limitation of emissions of certain pollutants into the air from large combustion plants. The implementation of the proposed project has contributed to the improvement of the environment.
